Here's the Fort Lauderdale move nobody prices correctly: the best seat in downtown isn't at street level — it's seven floors up, in the open air, with the New River winding below and the skyline turning gold. Rooftop @1WLO sits on top of the One West Las Olas building, and the venue calls itself a "garden in the sky." For once, the marketing undersells it.
And happy hour is when this date makes the most sense. The same rooftop, the same sunset, at the friendliest prices downtown: premium cocktails for $7, craft cocktails for $10, and nibbles for $8. It's the Fort Lauderdale rooftop from our guide to Miami's best happy hour date spots — this is the full playbook for making a date out of it.
Watch It in 60 Seconds
Short on time? We filmed this exact date for our daily series: watch "A Rooftop Happy-Hour Date in Fort Lauderdale" on YouTube — the whole plan in one minute. Then come back here for the details that make it land.
The Rooftop

Rooftop @1WLO — 1 West Las Olas Boulevard, downtown Fort Lauderdale, on the 7th floor. The whole room is open-air: greenery, open sky, and a rail that looks out over Las Olas Boulevard and the New River, with the downtown towers stacked behind it. Down below, the boulevard does its evening thing — dinner crowds, river traffic, the drawbridges — while up here it stays breezy and unhurried.
That's what makes it a date instead of just a bar: there's a view to share, a sunset with an actual start time, and enough space to hear each other. Get the rail seats if you can — the river at golden hour is the whole show.
The Happy Hour Deal
Happy hour: Wednesday–Friday, 4–7 PM, plus Saturday 2–7 PM. The pricing is the friendliest on Las Olas: select premium pours — Tito's, Don Julio, Bulleit and Bacardi — are $7, craft cocktails are $10, and select nibbles are $8. Two people can do two rounds and something to share for less than one round costs at most downtown rooftops after 8 PM.
Saturday is the cheat code: happy hour starts at 2 PM, so the rooftop becomes a daytime date — skyline, river traffic below, and the whole afternoon priced like a steal. One rule to know before you go: the rooftop is 21+ for all guests.
How to Play It
Make a reservation. The venue highly recommends them, and the experience is built around a two-hour window — book ahead, especially for Friday and Saturday, and ask for the rail when you do. On weekdays, arrive at 4 PM when happy hour starts: the seats overlooking the river go first, and arriving early buys you the full arc of the light.
Dress a little elevated. The rooftop runs an elevated dress code, and honestly it's part of the fun — this is a dress-like-you-meant-it date, not a flip-flops stop. Start with a $7 premium pour, split the $8 nibbles, and save the $10 craft cocktail for the sunset round. Then let the boulevard below handle the second act.
