Your Weekend Date-Night Playbook (November 6–8)

The first full weekend of November is the one South Florida plans around: bossa nova opens the Arsht's jazz season Friday, tango takes the same hall Saturday, 500 drones draw pictures over the ocean in Pompano Beach, and three food festivals — Greek, Asian, and Italian — run all three days across the tri-county map. Pick a night, or pick all three.

Every pick below was checked on November 5, 2026 — real event, real venue, real start time — and every one passes our one test: we can picture the two of you there. The candlelight and concert-hall seats move first; book those before dinner reservations.

Friday, November 6

Jobim and the Music of Brazil — 8 PM, Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. $53–$153. The Jazz Roots season opener celebrates Tom Jobim's centennial with Eliane Elias, Anat Cohen, and TRIO da Paz backed by the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra — “The Girl from Ipanema” played the way it deserves, in a hall built for holding hands in the dark. Get tickets.

Coral Gables Gallery Night — 6–10 PM, downtown galleries, Coral Gables. Free. First Friday turns the Gables into an open-air art walk: galleries stay open late with new exhibitions and live music, and the trolley makes drifting stop to stop easy. Walk one block over to Giralda Plaza afterward, where Giralda Live puts a salsa band on stage under the canopy until 11 PM. Event details.

Candlelight: Queen vs. ABBA — 6:30 PM (second show 8:45 PM), The Sanctuary Church FTL, 1400 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale. From $27. The Collins String Quartet plays Bohemian Rhapsody and Dancing Queen back to back in a sea of candles inside a mid-century church with soaring stained glass. Sixty minutes, two singable catalogs, zero small talk required. Get tickets.

SOFI TUKKER: Eudēmonia at Night — Meyer Amphitheatre, 104 Datura St, West Palm Beach. The Run the Night 5K starts at 7 PM, food trucks refuel everyone after, and SOFI TUKKER take the stage at 8:30 PM on the Intracoastal. Walk or run it together, then dance under the stars — an active date that turns into a concert without changing venues. Event details.

Saturday, November 7

Quinteto Astor Piazzolla: Le Grand Tango — 8 PM, Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center, 1300 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. Ticket prices vary by seat. Piazzolla's own quintet plays his new Le Grand Tango program, “Oblivion” included — bandoneon, violin, piano, guitar, and bass breathing as one. Tango is the most romantic music ever written for two people; dress up and let dinner nearby run long first. Get tickets.

Pompano Beach Drone Show Extravaganza — festivities 5:30 PM, drones at 7 PM, Fisher Family Pier, 222 N Pompano Beach Blvd, Pompano Beach. Free. Spread a blanket on the sand south of the pier as 500 drones light up the sky over the ocean — glowing sea-life and patriotic formations for Veterans Day weekend, with a DJ and live band on the beach until 9 PM. Sunset, sea breeze, and a light show, all free. Event details.

Downtown Day of the Dead Celebration — 3–8 PM, Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale. Free. The second annual celebration fills the Riverwalk with mariachi, ofrendas, face painting, and food, the Costume Stroll steps off at 6 PM, and the Revolution Live block party keeps it going until 11 PM. Colorful, unhurried, and completely free — an easy yes. Event details.

Timeless Harmonies: Celebrating 40 Years of Making Music — 8 PM, Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, 3385 NE 188th St, Aventura. $45–$55 ($70 VIP, $5 students). Dranoff 2 Piano Fusion opens its 40th season with two pianos, the Amernet String Quartet, and the world premiere of Adam Schoenberg's Scene Study: A Love Story. A love story, premiered live, twenty feet from your seats. Get tickets.

The Head and the Heart — gates 6 PM, Meyer Amphitheatre, 104 Datura St, West Palm Beach. Wilderado opens at 7 PM and The Head and the Heart play at 8:30 PM, harmonies and violin lines over the Intracoastal. Spread a blanket on the lawn, watch the light change over the water, and walk Clematis Street for a late bite after the encore. Event details.

Sunday, November 8

North Miami Greek Food & Wine Festival — final day, 11 AM–9 PM, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12250 NW 2nd Ave, North Miami. Free admission. Three days of eating your way through Greece close out Sunday: gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, and baklava, plus Greek wine, live music, dancing, and church tours. Graze, share every plate, and learn a dance step or two together. Event details.

13th Annual South Florida Seafood Festival — 11 AM–7 PM, The Wynwood Marketplace, Miami. From $8. Local chefs serve stone crab, ceviche, and grilled everything with Wynwood's murals as the backdrop. Go hungry, split every plate, and crown a winner on the way home. Get tickets.

Immersive Symphony: Queen & ’80s Favorites — 5 PM (doors 4 PM), Temple Emanu-El Sanctuary, 1701 Washington Ave, Miami Beach. From $39. A live orchestra plays Queen and ’80s favorites while projection mapping washes over the sanctuary dome — Bohemian Rhapsody swelling inside a room built for sound. Dinner on Española Way after; the songs carry the conversation. Get tickets.

Dany Ome & Kevincito El 13: Tendencia US Tour — 8 PM, Hard Rock Live, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood. Cuba's reparto hitmakers close the weekend with the Sunday-night stop of the Tendencia tour — the kind of show where the whole room dances and nobody checks the time. Dinner at the Guitar Hotel first, then let the choruses do the rest. Get tickets.
